Church Council meeting Minutes
September 5, 2006

Members present: John Rasmussen, David Staub, Dawn Hrncir, Julie Nelson, Vicki Schaunaman, Pat Stickland, Richard Aas, Michelle Nelson, Jeff Gregg, Lyle Wolf, Susie Fischer, Yvonne Hippen, Pastor Brugger, Pastor Wadsworth.

Devotions by Julie Nelson

Chairman John Rasmussen called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

MSC Pat Stickland/Dawn Hrncir to ratify the agenda.

MSC Jeff Gregg/Dave Staub that the minutes for August l, 2006 be approved as printed.

Reports:

Pastor Brugger: Due to illness others have filled in for services at institutions the past few weeks. Confirmation classes have begun. Meeting with 8t", 9th and 10th graders at present. Pastor Moberg will be meeting with one class. Will be doing continuing education the middle of September, 2006.

Pastor Wadsworth: Conducted multiple weddings. Attended VBS at Grace Lutheran Church. Also visited the youth at Music Camp at NESODAK.

Property and Management:

MSC Dave Staub/Jeff Gregg to approve financial report as presented. It was noted that all bills are paid to date.

Update on electric furnace: The electric box has been installed outside. The electric service to the box will be installed next Monday September 11, 2006 by RCC of Rosholt.

Plans are in place for Stewardship Sunday October 8, 2006. Temple talks to begin September 10 and continue for 4 Sundays. Pledge cards will be mailed in about 2 weeks to all congregation members.

Congregational Life

The worship committee recommends that October 22, 2006 be set as Confirmation Sunday. October 29, 2006 is Reformation Sunday.

September 17`h is the rededication of Church Cornerstone.

Parish Education and Youth

Rally Sunday is September 10, 2006.

Youth Ministry Group will be here at Grace September 28 and 29. Housing needed for 4 girls and 2 boys.

VBS was considered a huge success with 45 kids for each of 5 nights. Things went well and a good time learning was had by all. Thanks Susie and your crew for a job well organized and executed.

Old Business:

A. Electric poles on south side of building should be moved (placed underground) to make room for new sidewalk and ramp on south side of church. Negotiations are continuing with the city of Sisseton concerning this matter.

B. Grace Lutheran Church Cornerstone dedication is September 17, 2006.

C. Power to electric boiler will be installed September 11, 2006. Line must be dug in from the alley between 4t'' Ave E and 5th Ave E. The line will pass under the street at 4h Ave E and be trenched through the church yard to the electric box on the east side of the building. D. MSC Julie Nelson/Sue Fischer to approve the use of the web site name of Grace LutheranChurchSisseton.org.

MSC Dave Staub/Jeff Gregg to approve the use of Venturecomm.net as the internet provider. E. Motion and second Richard Aas/Jeff Gregg to approve the removal of one section of cupboards on the east wall of the kitchen. Motion failed.

New Business

A MSC Julie Nelson/Yvonne Hippen to approve the following requests for use of church facilities:

Sept 13 (9-12) LSS Probation Office Meeting

Oct 15 (5-8) Thrivent Supper Meeting

Oct 26 (7:30)Habbestad Family (music from Norway)

Nov 12 (2:00) Dakota Men's Ensemble (backup in case St. Peter' is not ready for use). Nov 12 (12-3) LSS Benefit Dinner

Dec 3 (4:00) Holiday Harmonies

Sep 16 Fellowship hall for baptism reception.

B. MSC Jeff Gregg/ Lvle Wolf to approve a continuing education request from Garnette Aas from Sep 13-15 in Minneapolis, Mn.

The meeting was adjourned. Followed by the Lord's Prayer.
