Church Council Meeting Minutes
March 6, 2007

MSC Tracey Lehrke/Sue Fischer to approve the minutes for February 6, 2007 as printed. Reports:

Pastor Peterson: Lenten services will be on Wednesday nights at 7pm

Pastor Wadsworth: Has been continuing with home visits. Shared a thank you from the John Iverson Family. There is a correction to our Parish Profile: Pastor Wadsworth has been with Grace since 2003, not 2004 as written.

Property and Management: See attached report

Congregational Life: No Report

Parish Ed and Youth:

Donations for the Iverson's will still be accepted at the Church office.

Financial Report:

MSC Jeff Gregg/Vicky Schaunaman to approve the financial report.

Anniversary Committee: Met at 5 pm today. They will be ordering commemorative plates, mugs, T-shirts, sweatshirts, pens, and pencils.

Old Business:

-Synod Assembly Delegates are needed. It will be June 1 and 2 at Augustana. Call John if you are interested in attending or no of someone who is.

-The Parish Study Meeting with the Synod will be March 13. Invite everyone.

New Business:

• MSC Jeff Gregg/Sue Fischer to approve the use of facilities for the Overberg Reunion. They will be charged the same as a wedding reception, June 7 or June 14. March 8, 9-11 am by Beth Gray for the Dep't of Corrections ( the youth room) April 17-19, 8:30-4:30 Fetal Alcohol Clinic (5 Sunday School rooms)

• MSC Neal Nelson/Pat Stickland to invite Cathy Nelson, missionary from Cameroon to come do a presentation in June or July with us paying a portion of her expenses. She will be visiting other congregations, as well.

• Neal, John and Jeff will attend the Prairie Coteau Conference.

• Faith Builders Meeting, Healthy Congregations Workshop, April 21, 9-5. The cost will be covered by the foundation and the Church.

• 12 keys for Effective Congregations at Tea, SD, March 24, 9-3, for lay leaders and pastors.

• May 20, has been designated as Answer the Call Sunday to emphasize seeking people and supporting seminary students. MSC Michelle Nelson/Dawn Hrncir to have an Answer the Call Sunday as scheduled by the worship committee. (May 20 may conflict with Senior Sunday, and May 13 is the Sunday School service)

• Record keeping at the Church is the Shepherd's Staff Program and the treasurer uses a Quicken program. MSC David Staub/Sue Fischer a committee of John, Lyle, Tressa Schmidt, and Garnette Aas will follow up with this issue.

• Janelle Gregg has the website ready. We need individuals to be able to update and keep it updated. John will work with Janelle to schedule in-service times to teach others to update.
