Church Council Meeting Minutes
January 2, 2007

Members Present: Dawn Hrncir, John Rasmussen, Richard Aas, Pat Stickland, Vicki Schaunaman, Julie Nelson, Dave Staub, Lyle Wolf, Jeff Gregg, Michelle Nelson, Fred Suurmeyer, Sue Fischer, Pastor Ron Brugger, Pastor Clara Wadsworth.

Meeting called to order by Chairman John Rasmussen at 7:00pm

MSC Fred Suurmeyer/Julie Nelson to ratify the agenda with the following amendment: add use of facilities for a wedding under new business c.

Reports:

Pastor Ron Brugger-apologized for not being able to conduct worship services December 29 and 30 due to weather. He brought council up to date on confirmation program. He has moved out of the parsonage. He will be having the parsonage cleaned. He has completed visits at Green Leaf and apartment houses.

Pastor Clara Wadsworth attended the Sunday School Christmas Program at Grace. She continues to do visitation. She will be leading worship at Saturday Vespers at Grace on January 6 and 13. She will be attending a meeting at Outlaw Camp in the Black Hills.

Property and Management:

Fred Suurmeyer has completed research on cemetery liability and found cemeteries do not carry liability insurance mainly because the plots in the cemetery are owned by the family.

All the new tables for the fellowship hall have arrived and will be put in place this week. It has to be decided how many "old" tables will be available for sale. Fred shared with the council a list of items that need attention inside and outside the parsonage. An open house will be planned so that members of the congregation will have an opportunity to tour the parsonage.

Old Business:

• Budget-John Rasmussen presented the proposed budget for 2007. The executive committee will finalize the budget this week.

• MSC Dave Staub/Pat Stickland to appoint the executive committee to complete the budget for presentation to annual meeting.

• Highway sign for church-a sign similar to the one on Hwy 10 for the Missionary Alliance

New Business

• MSC Jeff Gregg/Michelle Nelson to approve wedding request for Michaela Just on August 18, 2007, 4:00 wedding and reception following. Pastor Moberg presiding.

• Agenda for annual meeting-it was the consensus of the council that the following item be included in the annual meeting agenda: ^501h Anniversary, Call committee, parsonage, date of annual meeting (Tabled from the last annual meeting).
