Church Council meeting Minutes
August 1, 2006

Present: Jeff Gregg, Dave Staub, Sue Fischer, Richard Aas, John Rasmussen, Michelle Nelson, Dawn Hrncir, Pastor Brugger, and Garnette Aas.

Devotions by Pastor Brugger.

Chairman John Rasmussen called the meeting to order at 8:30 pm. The board unanimously approved the agenda.

John then asked for any corrections or additions of the minutes for the July 11, 2006 meeting. Dave Staub moved and Michelle Nelson seconded that the minutes be approved as printed. Motion carried.

Sue Fischer moved and Jeff Gregg seconded to approve the financial report as presented and printed. Motion carried.

Pastor Ron Brugger gave his report for the month.

Report of Property and Management

Jeff Gregg moved and Dawn Hrncir seconded to remove and replace the sidewalk on the south side of the building and place a pad for the dumpster next to back door (kitchen) of the church for approximately $6000.00 by Deutsch Construction. Motion carried.

Dave Staub moved and Jeff Gregg seconded to contract with Deutsch Construction to put cement pad in place for Otter Tail Power's transformer and also replace cement curb and approach to the storage shed. Motion carried.

Report of Parish Education and Youth Plans for VBS are in place and ready to go.

Lutheran Youth Encounter will be at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday and Friday, Sept 28 and 29. Housing for the group is needed.

• Web Site: an update and further information was given on the proposed Web Site for Grace Lutheran Church. It was the consensus of the board to have Janelle Gregg continue to develop the Web Site.

• Discussion on the cabinets in the kitchen. It was the consensus of the board to do more research concerning storage space and location of cabinets.

• Discussion on removal of electrical poles between the church and the library. Consensus to contact City of Sisseton and request that the electrical meter be moved to library property if possible.

• Vacation policy-It was the consensus of the board that a vacation policy be established in order that staff vacations be coordinated.

• Sunday School Rally day will be Sept 10^th.

• Rededication of church cornerstone will be Sept 17 immediately following Sunday Worship service followed by coffee on the Patio.

• The membership of Arden Simonson and family has been transferred to Grace Lutheran Church.

• A motion by Jeff Gregg and seconded by Dawn Hrncir to renew the contract for tuning the organ. Motion carried.

• Information was shared concerning a trust fund listing Grace Lutheran Church as a contingency heir. It was the consensus of the board to communicate with the trustee of the fund requesting that funds be forwarded to Grace Lutheran at the appropriate time as a memorial to Hattie Kleven, a friend and long time member of Grace Lutheran Church.

• A motion by Sue Fischer and seconded by Jeff Gregg to purchase a Multimedia projector for use at Grace Lutheran Church. Motion carried.
